Summer in the band room

It is July now. The band room is (mostly) empty. Students are off enjoying summer and hopefully practicing their instruments from time to time.

The high school marching production is just an abstract thought right now. An idea that will grow into something magical once the thought becomes a reality, but that is a ways down the calendar. A few summer rehearsals have happened, and some nice sounds have been heard. I can't wait to see what it grows into.

There is just under a month until full ensemble practice will begin. This year's show "Unplugged" looks to be really exciting. It will incorporate music from "Appalachian Spring" and "The Rite of Spring" just to name a few.

So enjoy your time away from the band room and the practice field. When you show back up in a few weeks it will be an exciting time of hard work and possibilities.
